Social implications of urban externalities cross-regional

Ernest Aryeetey, Board Member of GDN, chairs a session where awards and medals finalists present their research at the GDN 13th annual conference. In his interview he explains the key messages of the three papers presented at the session.  Firstly, in India, why do people decide to live far from city center? Secondly, why is there vacant unused land inner Mexico city and why does urban sprawl happen? And finally, the absence of e-waste recycling regulation in Ghana and its overlooked health and security opportunity costs.
